This program offers a unique opportunity for children to connect with nature, learn about local bird species and develop an appreciation for wildlife in a fun and interactive setting. Designed for youth ages 5 to 12, with older youth welcome to attend, Chickadee Kids introduces participants to the fascinating world of birds through hands-on activities and outdoor exploration. Programs include:
Bird Bingo
August 7th 10:00-11:30
What makes a bird a bird? Do all birds fly? Do they all
lay eggs? In this first program of our Chickadee Kids series, children
will explore the characteristics of birds through a game of Bingo on our trails
and a craft.
Migration Obstacles
August 14th 10:00-11:30
As summer changes to fall, some birds will begin migrating
soon. What happens during their journey? In this second program of
our Chickadee Kids series, children will discover the dangers of migration
through an obstacle course hike.
Bird Survivor
August 21st 10:00-11:30
Are birds' lives hard or easy? In this third and final
program of our Chickadee Kids series, children will use more than just their
imaginations in a simulation gave of a bird's life. Then they will join a
search for birds trying to survive in our forest.
While space is limited, registration is open to all youth—residency in Oswego County is not required. Advance registration is required to attend.
