EFNEP Nutrition Educator
This position will serve as the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) Program Educator for Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Oswego County and will implement EFNEP programming for a menu of existing EFNEP educational programs and activities for low income individuals and families. This position will be responsible for the delivery of established EFNEP programming and activities, both on-site and off-site in accordance with the Nutrition Program Area’s Plan of Work to include, but not limited to: one-on-one teaching, home visitation, demonstrations, newsletters, tours, and group workshops. Responsible for the recruitment and teaching of the targeted number of both adult and youth participants. Program topics will include, but are not limited to: food and nutrition throughout the lifecycle, breastfeeding education, food safety, food preparation, and basic budgeting. This position will also coordinate all administrative aspects of the EFNEP Program and will assist the Nutrition Team Leader with marketing efforts for EFNEP Programming. SNAP Ed. Nutritionist
This position will serve as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP Ed.) Nutritionist for Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oneida County and will implement SNAP Ed. programming from a menu of existing SNAP Ed. educational programs and program activities. This position will implement already-existing educational programming to the public to improve healthy food and lifestyle choices among low-income families and individuals encompassing all age groups. This position will be responsible for the delivery of established SNAP Ed. programming to community groups, and will deliver other established SNAP Ed. programming and activities, both on-site and off-site, in the community, in accordance with the Nutrition Program Area’s plan of work. This position will also coordinate all administrative aspects of the SNAP Ed. Program and will assist program staff with marketing efforts for SNAP Ed. programming, to include the environmental change initiative in collaboration with other Nutritionists of the SNAP Ed. program in the Central Region. 4-H Animal Science Educator
This position will serve as the 4-H Community Educator for Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Oswego County and will teach traditional 4-H educational programming as well as 4-H Club programming and 4-H Animal Science educational programming for a menu of existing programs and activities in accordance with established program parameters. Program topics include, but are not limited to: livestock, horse, dog, vet science, Ag in the Classroom, horticulture, County and State Fair, and Club programming. This position will teach established 4-H programming in group and/or individual settings, both on-site and off-site utilizing a variety of delivery methods to include, but are not limited to: workshops, seminars, demonstrations, interest groups, newsletters, and mass media. This position will utilize research-based, existing materials and resources in all programming efforts. This position will also work closely with other Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County Staff.
