Youth ages 12 to 18 can learn the art and skill of fly tying, an essential part of the centuries-old tradition of fly fishing. They will learn how to create their own flies using basic materials and techniques, guided by expert instructors who enjoy sharing their passion for the sport.
This program is ideal for beginners and young outdoor enthusiasts interested in fishing, craftsmanship, or trying something new. All materials and equipment will be provided, and no prior experience is necessary.
Youth Fly Tying is collaboration between Oswego County 4‑H and Trout Unlimited Chapter 589, bringing together youth development and conservation-focused organizations to provide an engaging and educational outdoor‑skills experience.
Registration fee is only $10. Early signups are encouraged to ensure a spot.
