The first Saturday of June is the annual American Hiking Society’s National Trails Day®, which is all about exploring local or state trail systems, giving back to trails, and building a world where everyone has the ability to enjoy the outdoors. Join the celebration at the Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center and learn how to leave no trace when enjoying public, national, or state recreation areas. Starting in the Paul and Theresa Schoeck Education Building, the environmental educator and Leave No Trace Trainer will go over the Seven Principles of Leave No Trace and how anyone can play a role in keeping recreation trails pristine for generations to come. Then, the group will head outside for a late morning hike through the trails. Overall, this will be an educational and fun event for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts!
The recommended age for these programs is 5+. All youth must be accompanied by an adult.
$4 per person, or $12 for a family. Children under the age of three are free!
