Embrace the winter in Oswego County with fun-filled, guided snowshoe hikes through the nature preserve at the Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center! These family-friendly programs are perfect to explore the outdoors, learn about nature, and enjoy the beauty of winter in an exciting environment. Led by the Center’s environmental educator, participants will learn how to use snowshoes, spot animal tracks, and discover the hidden wonders of the forest. These hikes are designed for all skill levels, making them a perfect activity for kids, parents, and grandparents alike.

NOTES:

  • Please bring a headlamp or flashlight if you plan to attend the evening hike on Friday the 17th
  • Participants may bring their own snowshoes or borrow the facilities – there is no additional fee to use the Center’s snowshoes.
  • Please dress appropriately for whatever the weather may be! Wearing winter boots or winter shoes that are flat are recommended, so they can easily be strapped in.
  • Preregistration is requested.
  • These programs are designed for nature lovers of all ages. All youth must be accompanied by an adult.

Fee

Only $4 per person, or $12 for a family. Children under the age of three are free!
