Sparks - Be the Star Chef

Food demonstrations are a fun and informative type of public presentation.

Sparks - Be the Star Chef

Learn to conduct a food demonstration better than the chefs on the Food Network!

This two-meeting workshop teaches youth how to organize their workspace, measure dry and wet liquids, how to choose a recipe, and so much more. At the second meeting, participating youth will have the opportunity to Be the Star Chef and conduct their food demonstration.

Sparks – Be the Star Chef will meet at 6:30 p.m., Fridays, March 3rd and 17th, at the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County Office, 3288 Main Street in Mexico. Parking is available on the street, next door along the guardrail, or behind the office. Entrance is through the front door.

This Sparks Club is not a cooking class. It is a program to learn how to speak in public using a food demonstration as a means.

Sparks – Be the Star Chef is open to Oswego County youth ages five to 18.

Registration is required as space is limited. A parent or legal guardian must attend the first session on March 3rd to complete and sign additional enrollment paperwork.

Children 5 to 8 years of age must have a parent or legal guardian attend every meeting with their child in accordance with 4-H insurance regulations.

Contact Linda Brosch, 4-H Team Coordinator, if you need additional information or help registering.

$14 per youth; enrolled Oswego County 4-H members are free.
