2024 Oswego County 4-H Fabric Sale

The 2024 Annual Oswego County 4-H Fabric Sale Fundraiser has been scheduled! This much-anticipated fabric sale fundraiser to support the Oswego County 4-H Program, part of Cornell Cooperative Extension, will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm in the Entertainment Building at the Oswego County Fairground located at 291 Ellisburg Street, Sandy Creek, New York.

Everything will be priced to sell, with many great deals to be found. All fabric will be sold by the piece at just $2.00 a yard. Pieces will be sold as is and will not be cut into smaller yardage. Credit and debit cards will not be accepted.

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County would like to thank the community in advance for their support of this wonderful fundraiser. The sale’s proceeds benefit the local 4-H program.

Looking to Donate?

The Oswego County 4-H Program is now accepting donations through July 1^st of fabric and other sewing items for the sale. The following items are examples of what the Oswego County 4-H will be accepting: yard goods (dressmaking, home decorating, felt, burlap, needlework craft fabrics, vintage fabrics, quilting, solids, craft panels, seasonal, pillows, wall hangings), notions, sewing tools, patterns (must be complete), books, booklets, yarn skeins, crochet cotton, knitting supplies and needles, crochet hooks, quilting frames, hoops, cutting mats, rotary cutters, rulers, and batting. Fabric pieces should be a fat quarter or larger. Please contact Linda or Mary at 315-963-7286 to schedule your donation.

What is 4-H?

4-H Community...

Helps youth learn new skills, make new friends, and build the confidence they need to succeed. Whether is it designing a rocket or creating fleece mittens, 4-H is more than anyone has ever imagined.

4-H is the largest youth organization in the world! In 4-H you can have fun with:

4-H is people sharing, doing, learning together in all kinds of projects, events, and activities. Members choose projects that fir their interests and the places they live. Group activities and events like fairs, trips, leader training, fundraising, and achievement programs provide opportunities and learning experiences.

4-H is open to all youth, ages 5 - 19 regardless of race, sex, national origin, creed, or handicap. Most youth choose to join 4-H to be part of a 4-H club; however, some youth participate in 4-H through school field trips, afterschool programs, and summer camp opportunities.

4-H is an informational education program for youth. Designed to teach life skills, 4-H is built on the subject matter projects developed by Cornell Cooperative Extension and by the National 4-H Council. This information is used by interested adults who serve as volunteer leaders. Cooperative Extension 4-H is a joint effort of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Cornell University (New York State Land Grant College), and the county Legislature. The union of these organizations and funds provides the materials, tools, and professional staff needed to support our volunteers and family participants.

Why 4-H?

The purpose of 4-H is twofold:

To provide youth with fun hands-on educational experiences that will help them develop life skills such as confidence, leadership, cooperation, and responsibility.
To provide interested parents and other adults with the opportunity to grow through working with youth.

Youth and adults alike will:

Have a good time through learning in new, enjoyable ways.
Make friends, belong to a group, give & receive acceptance and recognition.
